Hi, we are looking to buy in the area and have a few viewings booked in. Is there anywhere to avoid in terms of safety and what is it like walking around at night? I will be walking back late from FH station or sydenham station at night and wondered if the road over the railway from Sydenham park to inglemere road is ok? Also around acorn way. Any comments much appreciated

if you look at the police.uk website you can put in a general area i.e. SE23/SE26 and se the crime rates over the last few months and then you can also see the crime rates and types of crime for each street. It will give you info on the local neighbourhood police and you can then phone them and ask for their perspective. They can be very helpful and will always say " this is London and there is always more crime than the rest of the country" but can be quite reassuring overall!

I don't have a problem with walking from Forest Hill station.
If it is late at night, you can get a cab from the local minicab office.

I would have thought the route from Forest Hill station to Inglemere
is much the safer because there is nearly always a lot of people walking in that direction. If you go over the railway bridge from Sydenham you would be alone on a lot of occasions.

I would go along Perry Vale and turn off depending which end of Inglemere you live on. Whilst the bridge will be fine 99.99% of the time why worry yourself unnecessarily.

I've lived here almost a year and often come home from work at 11pm,
I've always felt ok.
