Hey all,
for the third night in a raw, I see a dog-like animal running infront of my building near the train station. he makes strange noise and keeps going back&forward for few minutes.
I have no knowledge what so ever regarding animals, it looks like a small dog to me, but I only see it for a glimse, could be something else though.
have any of you heard or saw that? what should I do about it?

Regards.

It could be a fox or it could be a muntjac deer.
I can hear the laughter already at the idea of deer in Forest Hill but this species is about the size of a domestic dog but probably with thin legs http://www.bds.org.uk/muntjac.html

Muntjac deer are very shy and make a barking noise. They can spread along railway lines and have been spotted in Sydenham Woods and evidence has been found around Forest Hill.

If you do think it could be a muntjac deer making an appearance please let me know. I have a planning application to object to that would benefit from some recent evidence of their existence around this area.

I'd say it's more a fox or dog-like than a Muntjac deer, judging from the picture you provided. but thanx anyway.
whatever it is, I really hope it's not a danger to people!

Regards

Running back and forth sounds more like a fox to me.

Could it be the Beast of Sydenham again?
