Warning from local police re unattended property in vehicles ...
Apologies for the impromptu message but I feel I have to send this message. Could I remind everyone and although I agree that the recent spate of hot weather has been most welcome, please do not become complacent with regards to ones security.
I have on several occasions today, whilst on patrol had to remind members of the public about leaving personal items of property unattended in their vehicles. On each occasion the vehicles were left unattended by their owners with all the windows open and items of property clearly on view within.
Thankfully it was my colleague and I that found the vehicles like this and not an opportunistic thief and the owners returned to find their high value phones etc in situ.
It only takes a moment to run off with a mobile phone or lap top.
If you want any advice on personal security, please don't hesitate to contact my colleague, Amie or myself on 020 8721 2723 or ForestHill.snt@met.police.uk
Yours sincerely, Michael 195PL
