Does anyone know if the 176/185 routes are affected?
Thank you

It looks fairly comprehensive.

All the bus companies involved are listed here. You can then check their websites to see which buses they run.

Thanks, but the web sites are as clear as mud! I tried doing a a journey planner for tues and it said 176 was running, yet Wikipedia says the route is run by Arriva; and the TFL site says Arriva (South) is on strike.
It's a shame TFL just can't publish a list of the routes affected.
Praying the strike isn't going ahead as I am disabled and can't use train and tube to get to work in Soho. This is going to be a £60 return taxi journey. Nice, just after Christmas.Angry

A list of the routes Arriva runs can be found here. Yes, they run the 176 so you should assume it won't run on Tuesday.

I agree, you have to do a lot of work to find out which buses are affected and TfL could be more helpful. I assume the journey planner won't show strike information until nearer the time.

if you use twitter, @TfLBusAlerts are giving regular updates and answering questions.

The next question is - will traffic tomorrow be worse, better or just the same? No buses but extra cars. Will it balance itself out? I'm going have to drive the kids to school in Streatham, normally a joy two-bus journey for them.

Funny enough, we're sat at work discussing that right now. Do I leave super early in a taxi, and risk being a couple of hours early for work? Or is everybody going to drive and it will take 2 hours?Sad

CrustyRack, GoTaxi are promoting hard on Twitter about the benefits of using their app for a cab during the strike. They were also giving journeys into London for a fiver before Xmas - may be worth asking them if they would help you reduce your cab fares???

It's best to check TfL's Countdown service or download one of the London Bus countdown apps for ioS or Android before setting off.

Last time round in 2012, we had a couple of 197's until mid-afternoon and that was your lot. London Overground will accept London bus users over reasonable routes, (i.e. Honor Oak Park to Surrey Quays which would be undertaken by Route P12 or Forest Hill to Denmark Hill or Peckham Rye changing at Surrey Quays).

There are buses on some routes, but even if the route is running, it may be at a greatly reduced rate. I drove the kids to Streatham this morning. Saw a grand total of three buses between FH and there. No more than a handful of dark, out of service buses at Crystal Palace bus station.

I've been out and about today and traffic is running much more smoothly. I'm lucky that I don't have to worry about travelling to work.

As well as the various "Countdown" apps available for your phone, I find this website quite valuable - it lets you see where the buses are on your route in real time.

Note that you can change the bus route via the drop-down box in the bottom left corner.
