Pretty much every night they roar around the whole area. I've seen a whole group of them that will speed in and out of traffic and rev for no real reason but to annoy. I have young kids who are woken by these idiots pretty much every night for the past two weeks! They do seem to come and go as we had the same issue around this time last year.

Any ideas on what could be done? Don't see the police waiting around to pull them over.

More annoyed by the kids on motor scooters who use the triangle of Stanstead Rd and South Circular as a mini grand prix circuit on a daily basis. Cannot understand how the law allows kids to stick an "L" sticker on a scooter at the age of 15 or 16 and then burn around on public roads causing mayhem.

Biggest annoyance to me in this category recently are the quad bikes. Almost unrestricted exhausts, some ridden by utter idiots.
Im fine with any kind of transport, controlled properly, but sawing exhausts off, making lots of noise while riding or driving like a complete idiot... Take them off the road.

With regards to the police stopping mopeds etc, they are sometimes reluctant to, as failing to stop causes a chase, which regularly ends in tears. Guidelines encourage interacting with them when stationary, i.e parked.

The bikes were very loud and annoying last night. I couldn't work out how far away they were and how well the sound was carrying.

Touch wood, quiet so far this evening. Maybe worth keeping a note of the pattern of behaviour?

More annoyed by the reappearance of the monkey bike which buzzes around our area. Its user seems to think a crash helmet is optional.

The Slickmanz crew had someone pop a wheelie outside a while ago and overcooked it ending up with the motorcyclist bouncing down the road.

All the gear and no idea springs to mind.

Karma perhaps?

And this from someone who still has gravel in his knees from doing the same thing in his yoofRolleyes

A tent pole between the spokes is the best solution

These charming and model citizens are precisely the reason why I moved away from Dartmouth Road. They congregrated outside Slickmanz and I witnessed more than one accident, usually with the innocent third party coming off worse!

I reported to Safer Neighbourhoods many times, but they seemed reluctant to help. Quad bike riders apparently are not required to wear a helmet. Seems madness to me.

bring on electric vehicles so the roads are no longer an assault on the ear.

also loud engines should be banned NOW - there is no need to drive a Harley or lowered ford escort around with a trumpet shaped exhaust.

along with putting the bend back into bananas I would've thought the EU would've sorted something by now

There is a need for a loud exhaust on a motorcycle, because lots of car drivers are blind and kill motorcyclists regularly. Sadly, many people hear motorcycles before they see them, because they rarely use mirrors.

There are regulations however, and these should be enforced during MOTs and by the police. Although I'm sure most riders of excessively loud vehicles regularly get pulled over for a chat.

There's really no need to use the antisocial behaviour of a minority of road users and the inaction of the police for many years (as far as I can tell) to 'have a go' at entire groups of road users. It's not very helpful.

And I'm sure you'll probably find this antisocial behaviour has been banned along with smoking in work vehicles and using mobile phones whilst driving or sitting in traffic, which people still do regardless. As a motorcyclist, I can tell you that mobile phone use among drivers is endemic.

Some of us are entirely reasonable people who wish to return home to see our families.

Hear, hear, Shaman. Loud pipes save lives! Responsibly ridden motorcycles are not the problem, just the actions of a small minority - often young and on L plates and actually probably on low - not high - powered machines - which makes them want to wind the throttle open and rev the nuts off them in order to go 20mph uphill.

I hear you bikers, and appreciate everything you're saying, but the idiot who thinks it is ok to speed up Ebsworth on full throttle on a big fat bike needs taking off the road. There are lots of idiots around at the moment, and it isn't just pesky kids. They're giving you normal commuters a very bad rep.
