For a little while now we have been able to collect the Standard both from the station and from Sainsburys. The FH Station option seems to have stopped. The usual delivery time to Sainsburys has been about 4.30. Tonight by 5.45 it had still not arrived - not sainsburys fault I know. However I noticed a steady stream of frustrated potential readers trying to get tonight's edition. Perhaps the ES could review their delivery arrangements?

Small mercy, if you ask me

Ironic given that today's edition states that Forest Hill is 'finally gentrifying', whatever that means. Maybe the ES doesn't like to be seen in gentrified areas?

I would like to resurrect my post about the availability of the Evening Standard in Sainsbury's in Forest Hill. Since September, the situation has got much worse and most nights the paper is not delivered until after 8pm. This is a nonsense for a paper available from about 2pm onwards in Central London. This may not matter much to those who travel into Central London each day but there are many older persons like myself for whom mobility is more limited and who still wish to know what is going on in their City. Please try to put pressure on both the ES and Sainsburys to try get delivery of the paper before it only becomes useful as chip paper!

I usually pop down to Sainsburys every evening around 5.30 to collect the Standard, but no longer bother, which as others has mentioned has got worse, not helped by scrapping the Forest Hill station delivery too.

They do appear to have changed delivery times as Tesco in Surrey Quays now gets their copies at 2.30pm rather than after 4pm.

If I had a pound for every time I had read about Forest Hill being 'up and coming' or (perish the thought) gentrifying since I moved here in 1986 I could probably buy a house on Canonbie Road! Smile

Has anyone who wants a copy tried contacting the Evening Standard directly on email or Twitter?
Such a shame its not in circulation, you all must have missed my photo in print the other week. Ohmy

I have tried contacting the editor by email but so far no reply. If others could try as well this might help.
