Reached home late last night after a long drive through heavy rain and went to bed tired without locking the car...which is in the front garden. Of course some ******* took the opportunity to steal the sat nav, the loose change and probably my prescription sunglasses....
The sat nav. is 2 years old so I'm not really that upset about it or the sunglasses which will be useless or even the 7 or 8 pounds in cash want really makes me cross is the fact that I live in an area where someone goes out at night checking for unlocked cars to steal from. Oh yes as well as the earlier vandalism incident which still rankles.

SNT are already aware of the general trend and posted this recently.

Bad luck, we've also had people rifle through our car in the night when the doors haven't closed and locked properly. I was actually quite offended as the only things in the car were some of my CDs and none of them were deemed worthy of nicking.

We've also had people hunting around our open porch area in the early hours and someone who nicked the first three pears ever grown on our tiny pear tree in the front garden (although that might have been a squirrel trying to get its five-a-day).

Ditto with the CD's. What's so wrong with Hawkwind I wonder that nobody wants them....(actually no don't answer that).

Around halfway along Kemble Road.

Hopefully the safer neighbourhood team will see this and take note.
It may be better to report it to the Perry Vale SNT so that they can focus on searching for criminals rather than searching for crime reports on the internet!

It helps them to have reports of all incidents and makes it more likely that they might catch the guilty party as they build up a pattern of events.

Yes I sent it to them this morning. I understood from previous comments that they periodically browse this forum?

Forest Hill SNT are aware of the recent rise of motor vehicle crime in Forest Hill and Perry Vale areas.
Three suspects have recently been arrested for commiting such offences.
If you do wish to report a crime we advice that you call 101, we do monitor the forum on a regualr basis but crime reports can not be created unless the crime is reported to police.

Kind regards

Forest Hill SNT

Thanks for info. I have now formally reported it and passed on
the serial number of the device.

We had several coppers thoroughly questioning someone outside our place on Dacres Road last night at about 3am. The guy wasn't sounding to impressed that he was caught doing whatever he was doing. Not sure if they were just doing a patrol or if they were called out but good to see a decent presence there.

Just had an email fromTomTom and it seems it is possible to exclude the device from their system thus making it less than useful to anyone. Shame they can't be tracked.

No surprise that someone with the username Erekose likes Hawkwind! Bet it was Warrior on the Edge of Time.

More Eternal Champion/Moorcock than Hawkwind, I'm afraid, though did see them live at Brighton Worldcon 1990.
