Does anyone have experience or knowledge of Rathfern? Although technically SE6 I think SE23 kids go there. Would appreciate advice and comparisons to Kilmorie and Dalmain. Thanks.

My daughter's in reception there. Excellent headteacher, and very strong exam results. We like her class teacher too. The after-school/breakfast club provision is well run and very useful.

It's noticeable how well behaved the children are throughout the school, so I think there's a decent focus on discipline. Can't comment on other schools really but only to say that we preferred it to Kilmorie in the application process for no other particular reasons than that it is smaller in size, and we preferred that there is a uniform, and teachers are called Miss/Mr rather than by their first names! That said, I'm sure Kilmorie is a very good school too and we'd have been happy if we'd ended up with that too. Dalmain's catchment area is tiny so unless you are very near you'll be unlikely to get your child in there.

Thanks BoMo that's really good to hear. I saw the recent results tables and Rathfern did exceptionally well. Do you know if it's a 1 or 2 form entry? How many did they take in your daughter's year?

I think it is two form entry.
I suggest you visit. You should be made welcome.

I think it is either number one or number two in the league table.

This link should be helpful. According to the document on the link, Rathfern is 2 form this year (as last year). Already past the deadline for Sept 2014 entry though....
