Hi we need to apply this January for my son to start reception in Sept 2014. Done the school tours but I prefer Kilmorie and my husband prefers Dalmain (they are equidistant from our house). Both have their merits.
Do any local people have any feedback?

I think the catchment for Kilmorie is wider (as it's a bigger school) so you may have a much better chance of getting your son into Kilmorie than Dalmain, which might be the deciding factor in terms of whether it's choice 1 or 2. We know parents at boh schools and all seem pretty happy with how their kids are doing. Our daughter will be 2015 intake and we're hoping to get her into Kilmorie on the basis of seeing neighbours' kids at the schol who are clearly loving it.

Both great schools - nice dilemma to have...
~My two are thriving at Dalmain, which is our closest school. I love the fact that they get so much creative input, and the teachers they have had have been without exception fantastic. The music is great too, and I love the fact that it is still small enough for the head to know each child. The children are very settled and we're satisfied customers.

Friends with children at Kilmorie are equally happy, though, so I don't know how much use that is!

Do come to our school fair next Friday evening and see us in action - Narnia experience with Tea Dance for Little People, German-style craft market, Santa, and all the usual stuff too. Fairs are a great way to get a feel for a school outside the tour time. I'm sure Kilmorie has one too.

Hi ForestHillMum I'm a Fairlawn mum but chat a lot to parent's and kid's from all local schools in the area and most seem to be very happy with which school they attend. We are very lucky to have so many great primary schools in the area so I'm sure whatever your decide to choose will work out well.
