Just going through the Mets twitter feed and came across this story. While it has led to an arrest and a good result, it still leaves me a little disturbed by the reports involved.

Must have been terrible, I hope the poor girl is ok.

Quote:
The swift actions of officers this morning (Thursday 25 July) have resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old man for attempted rape and burglary on a lone female - less than an hour after the incident occurred.

Police were called shortly after 0500hrs to reports of a burglary at a residential address in SE23.

Without knowing the details, it's worth remembering to close all your windows before you go to bed, no matter how warm it is. Weather like this is paradise to opportunistic burglars.

Yes poor woman, must have been terrifying. Great that Police were able to track down the attacker, clever iphone app. I shall be using that! Indeed it goes to show that leaving windows open on ground floor lever is a no go.

Yes, poor woman and good work by Met.

One inaccuracy ghough: you enable Find My iPhone through the settings. You only need to install the app on another device once it is stolen:

This might have happened in my road. The police were taking fingerprints at the windows of a house near me.

Terrifying for the poor victim (I hate using that word)
Indeed I agree with the securing your homes at night, there are some strange and scary people about.

Nice to see a simple app finding such a vile person and so quickly too.
There are similar apps for Android and Blackberry smartphones also if anyone doesnt have an iPhone but would like something like it.

Summer always brings more burglaries as people tend to leave windows/doors open due to the heat.

I leave one window open. But the dog and I sleep very close to it!
