Free Community Projects Workshop with Our Objects 12th February 2011 @ The Horniman Museum
The Learning Team at the Horniman Museum would like to invite anyone who leads a community group to attend a free workshop at the Horniman Museum on Saturday 12th February 2011. The workshop will be followed up with two 1-2-1 sessions.
This workshop can help you develop skills in devising ideas for a new project with your community group at the Horniman Museum, by using museum objects.
Specifically:
* Training in how to handle and care for museum objects
* A practical guide to using our Hands On Base gallery, which houses a collection of over 3000 handling objects from all over the world
* Ideas for developing projects with your group
* A tour and introduction to the Museum, its collections, galleries, library, archive and gardens
* Opportunities for networking with other community groups
After completing the training, you will be able to run sessions with your group at the Horniman Museum free of charge.
Please note that only the individuals who attend the training will be qualified to run sessions with their group at the museum. This means the workshop is not suitable for people who do not work directly with community groups.
