I think it masquerades as a pound shop, but isn't...! Wink

There is a pound shop in Bromley. It's down in that mall (the name escapes me) further down from the Glades, where Argos is.

Yes, but I need a whole arcade of pound shops, like at Camberwell.

They sell rubbish - or most fo them do and they seem to be taking over some parts of South London.

BD original site about the delights of the London Borough of Bromers ( the greener borough ) seem to have been taken over my a general discussion about the equal delights of pound shops.

Most of their stuff must be c**p ( am I to be sued here ). If you think retails for GBP 1.00 , less VAT , then about 82.5p , less transport , fuel surcharge and currency surcharge now pound slipped , raw material say in Ningbo , labour in Ningbo.
Dare I mention profit for factory , and pound shop owners.
How much value is there is the item. God forbid ( sorry should not have mentioned God now The Reverand a member )

Having followed this thread, I made a point of deliberately checking out the stuff in the Bromley Poundland (tucked away in the mini-mall next to Argos Extra and Games Workshop). They had lots of branded stuff, especially toiletries, so unless it's fake, I imagine you would get a good deal, if it was more than a ? in the shops. Food storage boxes (tupperware-type) also looked a good deal. Lots of stuff for kids that did look quite cheap. I'd recommend it as definitely worth a browse, if you are in the neighbourhood.

Pound shops are brilliant for things like stationery (especially padded envelopes which cost a fortune in Smith's).

If you sell loads of stuff on ebay or amazon, you save loads.

I wonder if Zimbabwe have Zimbabwe Dollar Shops. Not sure what you could buy.

With so many roads up due to water or gas works it is becoming frustrating doing simple but necessary journeys. But when you cross the border into BR is gets so much worse and many of the drivers are so unassertive and have to wait until a person with a red flag appears before they pull out into traffic. I doubt whether they ever drive in more central parts of London.
