A gentle chastisement to the staff (whose good work I do appreciate very much). I walked from Sydenham to Forest Hill in the searing heat this morning to find the library closed. In the time it took me to walk up and down the stairs I encountered four others bemoaning their fruitless excursion.
I presume it was closed because of the heat. That's why I checked the website before I left to check it would be open. It said it was and still does. Could the staff please ensure any future unscheduled closures are flagged on their 'opening hours' page. It is such a simple thing to do and may reduce the wasted, uncomfortable time and frustration of the public they serve.
TIA,
Stuart

Sorry about the fruitless trip Stuart.
Many orgs do NOT use their Opening Hours page to highlight temporary change - even though doing so has great merit.
However, the team there did try to publicise the predicament and temporary closure.
I spotted this on Twitter and there may have been other media streams used too.
