Is anyone in a tennis club around FH? I'm moving to the area soon and hoping to find one. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance, my new neighbours-to-be.

MJ

Whereabouts in FH are you moving? There are tennis courts behind the new (methodist?) church on Normanton Road and I think it is club membership rather than just turn up and play if the court's free.

There's the Camber Tennis Club on the South Circular, just past the Harvester (towards Dulwich). I played a match there years ago (when I belonged to a different club) and it seemed a friendly sort of place.
There are tennis courts in Mayow Park and the Honor Oak Recreation Ground - and probably others I don't know about.

There are public courts at Hilly Fields and I've seen signs for a tennis club in Sydenham, on the road to Penge, near St. Christopher's Hospice. I think there's also something next to the Homebase at junction Southend Lane/Bromley Road.

The club next to intersection of Beckenham Hill and Bromley road (with their entrance in the Homebase car park drive) is called Catford Wanderers.

I used to be a member when I lived closer to the club, and can really recommend it. They have both hard courts and grass courts, and a great clubhouse. They also have badminton, football and cricket. A very friendly club.

There is a club on Lawrie Park Road between Sydenham and Crystal Paace which is busy much of the time.
