None of our choices - a school I haven't heard of in Brockley....

Don't despair Bell. I can't remember if you get automatically added to the waiting lists, but I seem to remember reading somewhere the schools can tell you how far down on the waiting list you are, and there always seems to be quite a lot of movement.
Good luck and congrats to the other posters.

Here you go Bell, look at post 19 in this thread 2013 Link
It may not be relevant of course to you, but does show movement on waiting lists from someone who got in at the end.

Thanks! Fingers crossed. The school we were allocated is 1.5 miles away!

Bells, what was the school you were allocated? Beecroft Gardens is in Brockley, very recently built, some great facilities, great teachers, and has recently been given 'outstanding' by ofsted. I don't have first hand experience but have heard good things by teachers at my son's school, and from other sources.
Good luck!

Hi. Unfortunately not that one! Turnham Primary....

Also a good school, results wise at least and a new exec head is in place from this term, who is also exec head at Stillness.
May be worth going to visit? (I know its difficult to find!)

Thanks! Yes, will need to visit. Just such a shame as there are over 14 nearer primaries so very disappointed to be allocated one so far away. Thanks again!

I've heard of one child living in the centre of Forest Hill who was not allocated any of their top six choices and has been offered a place at Elfrida School (that's in the middle of Bellingham) 1.6 miles as the crow flies.
Although most children in Forest Hill will have got one of their top six, there will be others who live just a little too far from any school to get in anywhere in a reasonable distance. I hope those affected has some success on the waiting lists.

Another good luck story - first choice Kilmorie. Sorry to hear of people in "black spots" hope that changes between now and sept will mean that you get something closer to home.

stillness for us, which is good as it's the closest one and seems nice when we have visited.
