So these BT Sport ads have caught my eye, plus our Virgin Internet line has been letting us down quite frequently for months now. But I recall some forum users saying BT were a bit useless around these parts?

Does anyone have any inside tips, advice or experiences?

Thanks!

(We're on Priestfield Road if having an accurate address makes much difference...)
We have BT Infinity. Speeds are as advertised. However, the BT HomeHub router was really flaky. We replaced it with an Apple Airport Extreme a few months ago and it's now rock solid.
We also have infinity which is as fast as advertised.

This replaced Sky which was quite frankly terrible (very slow for anything other than general surfing).
Cheers guys. Not sure Infinity is down our way sadly.
I've just got 160MB Infinity and using speedtest.net I'm getting up to 200MB or more on my PC (wired into the router) (speed will be capped at 160MB at some stage in the future, apparently).

Wifi speeds throughout the house are a lot slower than that, though, but to be honest I'm not sure what sort of speeds my laptops and mobile devices could cope with anyway. BBC iPlayer on the big flatscreen has been pretty good, though - and certainly better than when I was with 02 (rated 18MB).

The only problem with BT was that they finished the work and left without testing the other phone sockets in the house (simple things like, see if the phones can actually make and receive phonecalls - not exactly 'rocket science with a clipboard'). But although I complained the next day, they couldn't record a fault because the job was still showing on their system as 'in progress'! (Cliche alert: you couldn't make it up.) And it took about two-and-a-half weeks for the status to be changed to 'Completed' - and only then could I register a fault and get an engineer back in! They all work now, at least.
I have had BT Infinity since December. I've had no problems with it. line speeds as advertised. If you're not sure if you can get Infinity go on to the BT website and you can check there.
We're moving soon, and will be lucky enough to be able to choose between infinity and virgin. We had no problems with virgin in se16, so I wondered from some of the frustrated noises in this forum if I should be reconsidering when we move. Are there se23 virgin issues?
BT have the worst customer service in the world. They have made me cry in frustration on more than one occasion. And every time you make the smallest change to your services they sign you up automatically to an extra 18 months on your contract. AVOID like the plague.
We're just across the SE23/SE26 border, and have used Virgin phone, TV and broadband for several years. We've been generally satisfied. The initial installation process was a bit of a nightmare, but since then the broadband and phone service has been pretty reliable, and the customer service when things go wrong (not often) has been acceptable.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
As FH is the site of a telephone exchange internet speeds here should be as advertised.

Where i am in HOP we can't get Virgin as the necessary cables haven't been laid - I didn't realise you could in FH.
