The Forest Hill Society Spring Walk will take place on Sunday, 21 April from 11:00am. We'll meet at the main London Road entrance to the Horniman Gardens before setting off along the Green Chain Walk towards Brockley via Camberwell Old Cemetery, Brenchley Gardens old train track and One Tree Hill to an optional lunch at the Brockley Jack.

You can then either catch the train home or possibly continue to Devonshire Road Nature Reserve for coffee after lunch. The route is fairly flat apart from the initial walk through Horniman Gardens and should take approximately one and a half hours.

Weather forecast for Sunday is slightly cooler than today with a max of 13C, sunny and no rain. Good weather for a walk and a chat.

Dogs welcome (I always get asked about this and I have never seen a problem with well behaved dogs).
What a nice day for a walk.
During our walk yesterday we went searching for the grave of Fredrick Horniman. To make this easier for others I have marked it on http://www.panoramio.com/photo/89168020

It used to have a metal frontage, but this has been removed - either but somebody stealing the metal or for it's own protection. An earlier image can be seen at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi...i=15482283
Hey guys. What a beautiful day, indeed! Do not forget today we celebrate Earth Day!
On the walk I also noticed some graffiti at the bottom entrance to Horniman Gardens from Westwood Park:

Having reported it to Love Lewisham it has now been removed:

All done in less than three days.

Can I recommend reporting any other graffiti you see around SE23 (and I don't mean the lovely art work on shop front shutters).
