While looking for images of Dacres Wood, I found a number of images from http://maps.bing.com/ that are worth sharing.

First is a great image from Mayow Park looking like a reflection from the trees, but actually just shadows from an angle we don't usually see:

Then there is the Leaning Towers of Dacres, showing how the overall image is made up of multiple images taken from slightly different angles:

And then I spotted a train crash waiting to happen, although I suspect it was a single train moving faster than the photographer:

Has anybody else spotted anything interesting in similar images of Forest Hill, or is it just me that finds these images fascinating (too much time living at the top of a hill).
Thanks Michael...just wasted half an hour of taxpayers money...

I checked out my allotment and I'm intrigued by the house in the bottom left of the picture here. What a wonderfully private location!
That does look like a very pleasant property, although I'd be wary of rogue golf balls.
Interestingly the different 'layers' of the maps in Bing must be taken at different times.
When totally zoomed in, we can see our new shed laid out on the lawn awaiting erection (which means we can date when the photo was taken fairly accuratel), but one level up from that view there is no shed on the lawn!!
see attached (if they work!)[attachment=1441][attachment=1442]
Streetview can also bring up unexpected occurrences in the local area:

Anything else exciting happing around the area on Streetview? (other than people cycling on the pavement - those are ten-a-penny-farthing)
One interesting thing about the view from Horniman hill is that the BT Tower is directly behind the London Eye.

Here is what is looks like in the other direction:

That is fantastic michael. Thanks for sharing that.

I like the rugby game in progress in Regents park also.
