They cause 50% more pollution and fuel consumed due to vehicles slowing down and then accelerating between humps.

They are lethal to motorcyclists and cyclists when covered with leaves and adverse weather conditions such as snow, ice and heavy rain.

They increase noise levels from vehicles slowing down and re-accelerating.

They cause tremors from heavy vehicles passing over them that damage adjacent walls and buildings.

They cause tremors that damage the sub structure of the road.

If lewisham hasn't noticed Garlies road is predominantly residential!
They are great for children or when you want to cross the road, they force motorists to slow down. Simples

I live on a residential road, unfortunately not everybody realises that so I am grateful that Lewisham has spent money on them.
Don't worry.
If they are anything like the new motorist friendly ones on Sunderland Rd,
no-one has to slow down at all.

So you get no additional tremors, no additional noise, they are safe for cyclists, and cause no extra pollution.

Not forgetting motorists also get to their destination much much quicker, and that has to be a good thing right?
I estimate that over 50% of motorists are speeding every day. Especially down roads like Perry Vale
