[Split from Stillness Road thread]

I have the same when turning right outside the WHSmith from the left hand lane. Much hooting and swearing by those in the right hand lane who think you are cutting them up.

A lot of people really dont have a clue.
Ah yes, the left-hand lane conundrum. I often use the left as so many people think you can only use the right, leaving the left-hand queue nice and short. But I know full well I will then have a battle on my hands as the right-hand laners try to squeeze me under a bus at Wetherspoons rather than let me filter in after the turn, as they are convinced I've just pulled a fast one.

There is a new road sign just after the railway bridge which indicates that both lanes are for the A205 and the arrows on the road at the lights show a right-hand turn from the left lane is allowed.

I feel a campaign starting. Seriously, if you are one of the people who gets this wrong, spread the word - we left-hand laners are not the spawn of the devil.
Lovely experience this morning turning right at Forest Hill from the outside lane. The driver behind me took umbrage and accelerated to make sure I couldn't feed in and then proceeded to make all sorts of obscene gestures at me. We met up at the lights in East Dulwich and he wound down his window and expressed with plenty of strong language exactly what he thought of women drivers. What a charmer.
Don't you mean the inside lane? Women drivers, eh?

(Please note this is an attempt at humour)
Ha ha. The left-hand lane, then. Yes, it's technically the inside lane, but because when you turn the corner, you are on the outside edge of the curve, I always think of it as the outside lane. That's my excuse, anyway.
I'll buy it.
My feeling is that they should put lines across the 'exit' to Dartmouth Road and make it the norm to continue on the South Circular towards Horniman, requiring a positive 'left' signal to 'exit' onto Dartmouth Road.
That's a very good idea.

The funny thing is that long vehicles such as buses and lorries all use that left-hand lane to turn, it's not like no one except me ever does it.
You shouldn't feel ashamed for using the left hand lane.
If you look at the road markings, you will see that there are large white arrows indicating that you may turn right from the left (inside) lane!
Indeed, and on the road, near where the Blue Mountain used to be, it has A205 painted in big white letters in both lanes. And before that, just after the bridge, there is a sign showing that both lanes are for the South Circular.

But apparently these signs are all wrong and I am an effing stupid effing woman driver who should have her effing licence taken away.
I had one this morning. White van man who took exception to my turning right from the left hand lane. He would not let me merge and was hanging over the passenger side of his van effing and blinding. As its a nice day I had the sunroof open and waited for him to take a breath before, in the most condescending manner possible, asked him if he knew vehicles could turn right from that lane.

He looked amazed that someone would have the front to bring him up about it. I gave him a finger wiggle and drove off

He just sat there in a very slack jawed way.
Londondrz - I like your style.

Keep up the good work people.
