Just going through the dates etc and to me this is what smells so bad...

Date of Application 4 May 2007, completed 2 July 2007 and revised 24 August
2007

Letter sent granting consent
Date 30 August, 2007
Contact Geoff Whitington

Date house collapsed and was declared unsafe and deconstruction was required.... 20th August!

How can I sleep safe next to this site knowing

a/ the same developer is building
b/ the same contractors are carrying out the work
c/ the planning office show no interest in my safety

Does anyone know which route to take on this whole matter, or does it have to wait until a valid planning application is made?

Surely someone from the council can be asked to come and examine the state of the site and the current state of our place?
Why dont you call Geoff Whittington?

Geoff is a very difficult person to get an on the record response from. A couple of letters have gone unanswered. On a matter like this one, I prefer communications committed to letter.

I have however contacted and received responses from other bodies within the council, so will follow them up.

If Geoff is being evasive it does smell a little mmmmmmm iffy. Time to write to you MP I think. I would also try to find out who Geoff's boss is and speak to them.

I am not going to say directly that any persons actions indicate foul play at this point. But I do think it would be appropriate for said persons to take us "little people" into consideration, and show enough respect to even recognise communications from people raising issues.

The matter has indeed been escalated to higher powers, and I agree with the comment on the MP communication. I shall try and get something sent asap, so thank you for that.
Any other contacts, councillors etc would be appreciated.

The matter has also been raised with other bodies in the council, requesting their assessment of the situations surrounding this whole matter.

For any written communications to the planning officers it does no harm to copy your local councillor(s). They are often able to follow up issues such as this on your behalf.

A member of the Forest Hill Society Executive has also been pursuing this issue with the planning officer concerned.

Cheers Michael. I will do that once I find out who they are and how to contact them Smile

I am aware of the FH Association's action also, and very grateful Smile

And I also found this, an artist?s impression of their proposal for 6 Church Rise - ?Twelve Luxury Eco-Friendly Apartments? (Snazy: you?d better be sitting down when you see this) http://www.earlsfieldestates.co.uk/future_projects.htm

Truly hideous. Looks like the seventies council block above the PO on Dartmouth Rd.

Oooooh look my house is see through!! lol
Yup thats very very wrong indeed, and comes out WAY too far to the rear!

They appear to have moved their offices to Waldram Park Road, apparently....

Thank you for the artist impression though, thats going to help pass round the local residents and get things started.
Haha got to love this picture....

A picture of the progress of the extention built on the now collapsed 6 Church Rise.... oops !
Just also noticed a whole load of windows facing my bathroom, and the upstairs bathrooms... Hmmm, I cant wait for this to be official.

Maybe you could take a picture of the 'extension' as it is now, and produce a before and after montage?

Am I right in thinking the entrance to the flats is at right angles to the road?

The reason your house isn't shown is because they think it won't be there for long? Scared

Dont even go there, thats one of my biggest concerns, hence getting in BEFORE anything even gets started.

Yup the entrance appears to be on the side of the building, facing our bathroom and bedrooms !!

A montage, are you sure you can handle it? Here goes then.

I don't know if the council's planning website

Looks like the council's planning website is having a spring clean and removing files, for example the documents for the original application no longer seem to be online.

Anyway here is the full story of Church Rise and fall in picture form....

Yeah seem to be a fair few bits and bobs missing.
Shame I cant find any pictures from BEFORE they started ripping the house apart, when Mr & Mrs Black owned the house in the 80's-90's. Was once a beautiful place.

Got loads of pictures of the transformation though, the mud pile, the fires etc.

Lets hope someone else gets their mitts on the land and does it properly.

First things first, make my house safe lol
A bit of a development here..

A little premature, a little cocky or just hopeful..

You decide.
How very strange...

After the above sign went up, some of the kids on the street took it upon themselves to vandalise the signs on the site... Inc the new one.

A day later, the "11" has been removed carefully from the sign..... and im sure its not by the kids...

So... if Earlsfield took the "11" down... will the new number be higher or lower.

Lets have a Brucey moment..... lower, lower.....
I agree . Just looked at the devolpers pictures. This does not fit in with the other houses in
Church Rise. How could it be permitted. As others have suggested I recommend Mr Dowd plus local councillor. I am not far from you and Alan Till has been very helpful , not sure if you are in same ward.
An 'odd' decision made by Lewisham Planning Committee tonight (I am being polite in my language) involving basements and demolition. Echoes some of the concerns here. I don't think it appropriate to go into detail here as long term readers will know that I don't like using this site as a personal soap box, but any hard evidence of other 'controversial' planning decisions won?t go a miss. Obviously in SE23.

On a postitive side really drew the community, well most of the community, together, helped by a number of others. But community spirit doesn't count for a lot in front of the Commitee...
