There is a very large police presence (at least 20 officers) at the top of Taymount Rise cordoning off Taymount Grange due to a "serious incident" there earlier this afternoon.
Same thing happening at Forest Hill station as I got off the train earlier. Any idea what's going on? Wonder if the two events are connected.
Oh my goodness! I have on Taymount Rise, but down the bottom, and had no idea, though I was snoozing in the lounge. I'd be pleased to hear if anyone knows what the situation is....
Forensics and people who are presumably CID (eg they're all in suits and ties) have also been in attendance.
The police arrested somebody at the station as part of an ongoing incident. Our current understanding is that no crime was commited at the station.

We do not have any information about Taymount Grange.
I was told that a man killed his mother on Taymont rise. Its thought he went down to the station. A young man was seen standing in a Biffa bin outside the station & was arrested.

I was also told to members of the staff in the Post office were attacked.

I assume its true because theres no motive to make it up

Man arrested after pensioner found dead in south London

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman in her 70s was found with multiple injuries.

The pensioner's body was found just after noon in Forest Hill in Lewisham, south London.

She was pronounced dead at the scene after London Ambulance Service was called.

Officers believe they know the woman's identity but have yet to inform next of kin or formally identify the body.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The man, in his 40s, is in custody at a south London police station.

We saw the air ambulance come over at around 12.30pm today- I was in a friends garden at the time and many people remarked on it. That must have been it. Wonder where it landed?

Oh dear, as my partner has just said, thats the third murder in a year around here.
Had a young chap come past the shop today while I was painting the shop front asking where Taymount grange was I gave him directions and asked why he was going there. He said he was going to look at the scene, and he was from new cross. seemed a nice guy, so not sure if he was a journalist or something similar trying to find out what is going on. will keep you posted if he pops in again
43 year old man of no fixed abode was arrested for murder of his mother.

Very sad.
Indeed very sad, what can your mind be like, to commit cold blooded murder, and then your own mother. I know TR very well - quite a nice leafy area

The man who was charged has an unusual name, which may or may not help with Googling:

These could very well be the same or different individuals. Really I have no idea.
