Does anyone know what is happing or happened in Stanstead road today lots of police activity and helicopter fly round?

BBC London Travel News website says:

A205 London - A205 Stansted Road (South Circular Road) in Honor Oak Park closed in both directions between the B218 Brockley Rise junction and the A212 Catford Hill junction, because of a police incident. Expect delays.

Newsagent on corner of Brockley Rise and Stanstead Road said road was closed because of a "shooting" at about 5.30am today, Sunday.

I was driving on south circ at 06.30 this morning and road was closed off with lots of police activity.
Coming back at 08.30 man stopping traffic said it was because of a murder.

Im looking out of my window and its actually the corner of Elsinore road which is closed off and that is where all the police are standing

As reported on both BBC and Sky news, police were called by neighbours seeing a man attempting to breaking into a car. Local police arrived and the man threatened them with a large knife (majetee). Back up polce were requested. Armed polcice arrived and they tasered him, he was further shot. Was taken to Kings College Hospital in a critical condition. Police incident being investigated by police authorities.

Haha, my friend works for the MPS and told me that the call sign for that is "Teapot1" - makes me smile... reminds me of Thomas the Tank Engine for some reason.

The tea van was there when I went out at about 3pm when I went out and gone on my way in about 4.30 and I thought that it was a sign that they were nearly finished but obviously they just went to re-stock. I was accosted by a reporter in the shop and saw the TV crews talking to some idiots that probably have nothing intellegent to say so I'm looking forward to watching the 6 o'clock news.

Elsinore Road was closed between Vancouver & Stanstead.
I walked up Kilmorie and was stopped at Stanstead. The police said there had been a shooting. I saw an officer with a handgun. There seemed to be one car stopped in the middle of Elsinore Road.

Hope it all clears up by tomorrow morning as thats a walk to school route for Kilmorie. Nasty stuff. Silly bloke if he thought he could wave a large blade at police and nothing would happen.

just came back from a day out in whitstable and it is still cordoned off with a black car in the middle of the road just past the Surgery's chemist

They have taken the tape down and allowing people up elsinore road now!

Is Stanstead Road open now?

There were traffic comes blocking the right turn to Stanstead Road at St Dunstan's College this morning.

It was defintely still shut at 8 this morning.

Still shut at 10.30 this morning

This is ridiculous
