I'm looking for a pub function room within 5 or so miles of Forest Hill station. It needs to hold up to 60 people seated on tables of 4 (15 tables). I'd need it on a Saturday between 12pm and 9pm and the pub needs to be near a rail station. Some sort of hot pub food is a must.

I have been quoted utterly ridiculous prices for pretty mediocre venues - we are not in central London, you know. If you have any recommendations I'd be most grateful for them.

Have you tried The Honor Oak?

Yes - they are one of the pubs who ask a ridiculous amount of money to use it (around £200). Other people suggested the Question Bar but they wanted £200 also. I'd be interested to know whether anyone has experiences of the Railway Tavern.
