Motets and Madrigals for a Mid-Winter Afternoon

This Sunday (29 Jan) at 3pm, Canonbie A Capella will be performing a short (approx 1 hour) programme of music for unaccompanied voices in St Augustine's One Tree Hill. All are warmly invited to attend - entrance is free with a retiring collection and refreshments after the concert for St Augustine's Living Heritage Fund.

On the programme are some pinnacles of the English anthem tradition, such as includes such as Thomas Tallis's "If ye love me", William Byrd's "Sing Joyfully" and Charles Villiers Stanford's "Beati Quorum Vir". Also included is a selection of English and Italian madrigals and part songs, composers including Elgar and Cole Porter. [attachment=966]
Programme now attached for anyone who may be interested in coming along tomorrow afternoon. All very welcome!
