The closure of the London Road/Honor Oak Road junction has caused me a considerable amount of amusement. It is all about the stupidity of drivers, particularly of coaches and heavy lorries. They don't believe that the road is closed! So they drive blindly on towards the junction and then have to reverse back all the way to Westwood Park - none too easy for coaches and lorries. The locals show initiative (illegally) by turning down Manor Mount. Maybe all the signs 'Road ahead closed' etc are illegible to the normal myopic and tunnel visioned drivers?

All this entertainment is due to come to an end late on Sundy or early on Monday when the water-main repairs will be completed, so the man in a hi-viz jacket tells me.

Is Sainsburys still open as it must be hard to replenish stock. Unless of course they go the wrong way down Manor Mount. Like a lot of people.

Waldenshaw Road - their normal access - is still accessible from the main road, they just have to come from the station direction, rather than the Horniman, or go round the diversion via Sydenham Hill and Kirkdale to get there.

Was rather bemused to see a police car, blues and two's on, sweep past Sainsbury's up the London Road only to be met by the barrier. It seems ordinary citizens are not the only ones who cant read.
London Road and Honor Oak Road are open again. So there'll be no need to break the law and enter Manor Mount from Honor Oak Road - pigs'll fly first!
