Does it still exist? Maybe this video made there in 1954?

"The Barmy story shows a woman pretending to be a yacht in a swimming pool."

Quote:
Swimming teacher Wynne Owen-Smith puts a belt around her waist with a sponge holder in the centre. She gets into an outdoor pool and lies on her back in the water. A woman in a sequinned swimsuit hands her a model yacht sail, which fits into the holder. Wynne's feet are strapped to the end of the sail and she holds a cord attached to the other end in her mouth.

This will probably be the now defunct buildings at the top of Taymount Rise I'd guess. Maybe Steve Grindlay can tell us more.

The Forest Hill Swimming and Tennis Club were off Perry Rise. There are new houses on the site now in Paxton Road.
