Probably just another example of Lewisham's mission to de-forest the Hill!

Probably, yes. They are soulless twunts. I wrote an email to Boris complaining, but he/his minion wasn't interested. I had hoped he would be, given his initiative to plant trees in London. A shame. The sooner this council turns Tory the better.

"The sooner this council turns Tory the better". This must surely be said in irony.

Would be great Edd but unlikely.
Too many people on benefit or working for the state , not great Conservative supporters.

Good to know that people still have faith in political parties. I think we should take it to the square like the Egyptians (except that we don't have a square) and demand that 2 trees should be planted every time one is knocked down.

These trees were removed by TfL (not Lewisham) following subsidence claims against TfL
Hopefully they will replant a different species which is foundation friendly.

When a tree died outside my house, I was disappointed that they tried to remove it without notice and tarmac over the payment where the tree stood. I put pressure on my local labour councillors and promises were made to have a new tree planted in its place. After getting a bit of further help from a FH lib dem councillor, the tree was finally replanted. It took more effort than it should but tenacity got me there and the new tree is thriving. I would therefore recommend you make this your campaign. If I did it, you can.
