Meet at Crescent Wood Road at 2pm to join London Wildlife Trust on a hunt to find different kinds of minibeasts and explore the habitats they are found in.
The event will involve beating and sweeping plants and trees, searching through leaves and turning over logs. Play bug hunt bingo, look at the animals you find under our field microscopes and draw what you see. There will be colouring-in for younger children.

Suitable for families with children 3+
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
This event is free BUT donations are very welcome!
Hi, this sounds interesting- what is the length of the walk and how do you find everyone else? Amazingly I've lived here for 26 years and have never actually been into these woods! I was wondering also about accessibility for buggies, even single buggies? Can we get into any part of it from the Cox's walk end? Many thanks for any info.
Hi Roz,

I hope you can join us.

As stated we will meet at the Crescent Wood Rd entrance at 2pm. The event is for 2 hours and will finish at 4pm.

With regards to accessibility there are kissing gates into the reserve from Cox's Walk and Crescent Wood Rd, but these can be a bit tricky with a buggy. There are side gates but these are usually locked as cycling and motorcross are not permitted but have historically been an issue. I do have keys to all gates, but the hunt will start from the Crescent Wood Rd entrance and it is this gate that will be unlocked on the day.

Best wishes,
