Well, we can't be outdone by Horniman parents, can we so I think we ought to have our own thread for newbie and not so newbie Fairlawn parents to mull over the experience that lies ahead! Any hints for parents who suddenly find they have school-age children and wonder what lies beyond the school gates for them? Will they ( the parents) fit in and do well?
Hello
We are also rejoicing as we seem to have just scraped into this year's Fairlawn catchment area, as far as I can see we are rather fortunate. Only fly in the ointment is that our little boy, who goes to nursery in Dulwich, doesn't know anyone else who is going to be in Fairlawn reception, though a few of his mates are going to Horniman. If anyone is interested in meeting up some time to play and introduce some future Fairlawn class of 11 kids to one another, we'd be keen - perhaps in May after the impending barrage of public holidays is over.
Just thought it worth a mention that the school crossing patrol lady outside Fairlawn must be one of the most cheerful positive people in SE23. She is always smiling and gives such gracious thank yous to all the cars she stops. Whether I drive past or am sitting on the P4 in the mornings she always cheers me up on my way to work. Look out for her and thank her from me!!
Hi
Anyone else interested in getting some future Fairlawn reception class of '11 kids together? Do get in touch if so - have found a couple of other people whose children, like my son, won't already know lots of children when they start and thinking of arranging to meet up in a park or garden after half term sometime. Lovely if anyone else would like to join in!
