St Augustine’s is holding a free summer concert on Saturday 24th July at 7.30pm. The programme entitled 'Damsels in Distress' will be performed by singers from the Mezzo Voce group and will feature works by Purcell, Ponchielli, Gluck and Verdi.
The Mezzo Voce group include:
• Margaret Pearmen, soprano
• Grianne Gillis, contralto
• David Coussell, piano

There will be a retiring collection at the end of the evening, with all proceeds going to St Augustine’s Living Heritage Fund.

This looks excellent - thanks for posting.

We went to this. It was wonderful, particularly the exciting Verdi in the second half. Why haven't I heard of Margaret Pearman? Her rendering of the Willow Song and Ave Maria from Otello made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.
