Coming back from work today, noticed a new tube map at the underground stations. And, lo and behold, snaking down the map in an ungainly fashion is the ELX extension, with our own fair Forest Hill sitting there sweetly. So folks, as of this week, we're officially on the Tube map Smile Hurrah! Huzzah!
And the trains will actually run in 2010!
Where did you see this, as I can't find it on the updated tube map which is on the tfl website. We have always been on the tube and national rail map, maybe that's the one you are referring to.
No, Loca. It's the actual tube map itself. I saw it at West Acton tube yesterday, and also at Tottenham Court Road.
This is the Tube map on the website, which I would hope should be the lastest.

Can understand how it could be on station maps and not on this updated version.
Well, I don't want to argue....! But I'm not seeing things.
I am very happy if it's on there, that's why I want to know where I can find it.

I look forward to seeing it soon.
Cool,
Love it,
It's nice to see FH on there, isn't it? Although I think this guy's updated version eradicates some of the mess that's been created by recent amendments, designwise...

... and Honor Oak, sometimes I think that people forget about us on this forum.

I find it a little worrying that there is no National Rail symbol next to Forest Hill station on this map. What does this mean?

I think this is the map of the underground/overground.

Yes it is a map of the underground network but if you look at tube connection that interlink with overland train lines they are represented with a main line railway symbol (the red arrows on top of each other) but Forest Hill does not have one of these on the map despite being on a main line.

I don't think we should read much into that. There's no National Rail symbol on the 'under construction' Woolwich station either. Or at Crystal Palace. Or any other stations 'under construction'.

On a serious note it does seem a little unsettling though.Huh

I think the national rail symbols mostly appear where the underground connects with a mainline railway station. If they put that symbol on the overground they would need to put one at several stations.

Panic over. (I hope!)
I have a slightly older map from 'Overground' which does show national rail symbols on all the stations south of New Cross Gate, so when the ELLX is completed they may show the symbol on all stations, or maybe just for the connecting stations - time will tell.
