This evening I bumped into the two buskers that have been mentioned here before:

http://www.se23.com/forum-archive/messag.../1060.html

Once again, they entertained, rather than annoyed, passengers with "This train goes to Caterham" and "If you can't shave in a toilet, where can you shave? (interesting sound effects)"

I did buy their CD this time (it is copyright, so I cannot post it up, but iTunes seems to recognise it and file it under "Children's Music") - bargain at ?4

Maybe we could update the travel songs though? I'm sure Michael has some suggestions, but how about:

"This train no longer goes to Victoria" or even
"Wave goodbye to those left on the platform who could not get on"

Wouldn't they need a licence for that? They don't look like they're into paperwork.
Seeing as they are keen advocates and promoters of our local train services I did also think that the FHS could use them as front people for the Save Our Train Services campaign. Any views on roping them in? We could be on to something....

Hang about, that idea was mine in March....you read it there first, people.

I do still think that they could help the FHS front a humerous but effective campaign to increase awareness of proposals to cut services and hence increase public outcry. Something for the next Transport Sub Committee perhaps?

They've been singing the same two songs on trains for 15 years. They're hardly likely to break out a new repertoire now.
