Started growing vegetables in my garden this year and have a glut of tomatoes and pumpkins. Also have lots of pears and cooking apples.

Does anyone know of any local soup kitchens which might be interested in a donation of veg?
Waht a nice offer.
I do not recall any soup kitchens in SE23. You could donate to older peoples homes , probably they do not get much fresh food
Is there a local abundance group? - see this article on the BBC website.
Thanks Brian.

Shzl400, I saw the article too and it got me thinking about giving away surplus veg and fruit, not just to friends and neighbours but also where it might be needed. I did check on Google but couldn't see any fruit sharing schemes nearby. Anyway, I contacted the American Church which runs a Soup Kitchen in Tottenham Court Road and they seemed pleased to be offered the veg and fruit.
