Hullo everyone,

You may know that the 'Green Chain Walk' will be extending through SE23 early next year. You might have wondered where it goes and why so many regard it as the best footpath in London.

On Saturday 26th the fourth Green Chain 'Megawalk' reveals all.

At average walking pace throughout we'll stroll the 21 miles to Erith, the Easternmost point of the Green Chain. The further you go the better the landscape gets and tired feet will want to keep going! We'll pass through miles of dense woodland and see views that extend right out to the North Sea. For much of the walk you'd have no idea that you are in a City, let alone London.

Yes, it's a little challenge but don't let this put you off. There's always pleasant company and the camaraderie sees everyone through to the finish.

We meet at Crystal Palace Parade Bus Station at 9am and will finish by 6.30pm. The walk is promoted by 'Walk London' and their experienced staff will be on hand throughout the day.

Feel free to contact the Walk Leader, Ian Bull, in advance.

Hullo everyone,

We did the walk and people from SE23 came along. Everybody really enjoyed it.

More next year!

All the best

Ian
I went with Tess (the dog) and we both really enjoyed it. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for more walks. It had the added benefit that my normally hyperactive dog was totally zonked out for about 48hrs afterwards - bliss!
