How big is that Hydrangea behind the bike shelter on Platform 1 at Forest Hill station?
I'd wager that it's the biggest Hydrangea in THE WORLD!
What are they feeding it?
The area behind the bike stand is oft used as a man's toilet from - so I guess the feed is a mixture of beer flavoured wee and good old fashioned rain water.
Thanks gingernuts for the great gardening tip.

If I understand it correctly, then all I need do is:

1. drink beer.
2. wee on the plants in my garden.
3. stagger back and watch them grow.

I'm all over it.
Its a technique thats been handed down by generations of inebriated gardeners!

I hope they washed their hands.

On what? The swines!
When my grandparents ran a country pub several customers used to "fertilise" the vegetable garden!
What about the hanging baskets outside of the station and dotted around The Hill? They are growing at a wonderful rate. Is it the same gardening tip happening here? Surely only those tallest beer swillers are capable of this? (Those who are approximately 15 feet or taller.) Or those with a terrific aim?
Health and Safety will be on the case soon. They will be banned because somebody may get P-flu from the dripping baskets.
Many years ago I remember my Dad used to pee in the watering can then top it up from the water butt and sprinkle it on the lawn. We had lovely green grass!!
I heard on the grapevine that someone who used to star in The Good Life uses urine on her skin. I can't name names but if you type in "felicity kendal" + urine into Google who'll get back thousands of links.
I believe male urine (not female, for some reason) is a garden deterant for slugs, foxes and cats.
That's because these animals are sexist and believe that only men are allowed to claim land by marking out their territory. Please can somebody explain to the slugs that we live in the 21st century and that this type of attitude belongs in the primordial swamp from which they came.
Some interesting subjects this evening! Urea/uric acid ( found in urine) is found in many skin products including e45 creams and lotions for its beneficial properties. Have a look at the labels of some of these products.

I think all urine puts off foxes and cats ( didn't know about slugs- I just know they like beer and thought they were hemaphrodite anyway ) but the male hormones ie testosterone is more repulsive as generally its male animals who spray to mark their territory indicating to others that this is their patch hence its more effective.
