Article in yesterday's Times:
"London mayor plans to take public control of rail services"

Hmm...well I must say he seems to be doing reasonably well with the buses (bus lanes, more buses on the roads, old vehicles being phased out in favour of nicer new ones, etc).

Things don't seem to be improving at the moment on the trains, so I guess I'm vaguely in favour, even considering the probably fare hikes.

Cons: Risk that passengers within the Greater London boundary may be given priority over those living beyond it

That is not really a con, especially given the current situation where the rebuilding of London Bridge will benefit fast services from outside London while reducing services from Greater London.

For People in SE23 this would have the advantage of all our services being run by a single company when the East London Line comes to Forest Hill, run by TfL.

I presume the title should be Ken may bid for control of southern.

Admin, can you alter it if I am correct, please?
thank you.
Done.

But for us latecomers to the thread, what was it before?

I think it was "Key may bid ...".
It did start "Key may bid...."
I am not really a Ken fan, but I have to admit that he has done a good job with the buses.
