Who says business is not flourishing in SE23?
According to the SLP article, Sergeant Phil Moore said: "This is another example of Perry Vale Safer Neighbourhood Team acting to safeguard our community."

What a load of baloney! If you read the whole article, the police were blissfully ignorant of this until they were called by the landlord, who found that his locks had been changed, and then all they found was the plants, no-one at home. Hardly cutting edge detective work, dicing with danger etc.
Any one know whereabout on Perry Vale?
Must have been on a pretty unusual bit of Perry Vale for it to have been on "Perry Vale, Sydenham"

To the best of my knowledge, this is our 'hood. The good news, of course, is that on any prospective house buyers internet searches it will not reflect badly on Forest Hill
There is a house between the school and the station which looked pretty unlived in - plus you could see a hole in the ceiling of the first floor.

I apologise if I am denegrating anyone's lovely abode.
I've often walked around forest hill and sydenham and you can smell these grow houses that haven't been sealed properly or hastily set up. And I can tell the difference between it being smoked and being cultivated. It's especially noticable the 'right side of the tracks'. I wouldn't be surprised if there were 50+ pot farms in se23 alone.
bigbadwolf,

What a big nose you have!

The BigBadWolf: An SE23 Fairy Tale

Once upon an evening, BigBadWolf went out on his latest vigilante tour to find the three little doped-up piggies. "They'll be easy prey tonight" he thought.

Using his large "all the better to sniff out the spliffs with" nose, the BigBadWolf came upon a small brick building in the Vale of Perry.

"Little Pigs, Little Pigs, Let me in", said BigBadWolf

"Not by the hair on our chinny, chin, chins" said the goatee bearded whacked out piggies.

"Then I'll Huff, and I'll Puff, ... and they just relax for a moment" said BigBadWolf.

After an hour or two, BigBadWolf decided it was time to "Blow this House Down" by 'grassing' on the piggies to the local constabulary.

BigBadWolf waited patiently for the crack (!) troops to arrive, but as time wore on he decided it was time to take matters into his own hands, after all there were another 49 such houses to get through and he couldn't be seen to show weakness.

He climbed onto the roof and made his way down the chimney, ... but what should he find at the bottom? Well, in their hastily set-up property, the pigs had forgotten to seal the chimney. Silly Piggies!

BigBadWolf hacked his way through the thick growth and discovered that the piggies were already long gone, but had left their forwarding address as "Sydenham" so they must now be almost impossible to find.

Disappointed, but with pockets bulging, BigBadWolf made his way home and resolved that tomorrow he would finally get around to applying to the Police as an expert tracker. After all, climbing down chimneys was a risky business and one of those police battering rams would be much handier.

The End (with apologies to bigbadwolf)

No apologies needed that was ******* funny

Bigbadwolf.

p.s you seem too have cracked the background of my username, well done.
I'm not sure if it is safe to go for a walk in the woods today.
Maybe the 24 hour sandwich place will have to fall back on just making sandwiches for a while?
Rob

Far out man.

Dotcom - laughing her leg off
Any area that has a larger amount of hydroponics outlets than you'd expect, tend to indicate an area with 'farms.'
The reason for the large number of farms in SE23 is - apparently - property prices. Houses are rented for this specific purpose by certain gangs (I won't suggest they might often be from a specific region of the world as Millie Tant will be along to protest about the outrageous racist slur) and as the rent represents a significant overhead they tend to rent houses in cheaper areas, such as this.
