How about actually producing something useful rather than repeating what you have said in previous newsletters, or even better go catch some criminals, it's what you are there for,

I must confess as a woman who due to my working hours has to walk back from the station late at night I must agree with some of@samuelsen's comment above.
I would prefer to know of any thing to watch out for, local crime, is anything being done about the begging outside the station morning and evening for instance?

Even during the day between the rush hours, it can be intimidating to use the ticket machines and the cashpoints with the beggers hovering around the front.

Are there no station staff, and if they do not want to intervene shouldn't they call the PCSO's at the very least??

In response to yours and samuelsen's posts, I must agree that this month's newsletter isn't really saying anything, which, naturally, would leave us to assume that there's nothing to report.

However, I emailed the Safer Neighbourhood Team a couple of weeks ago and an officer called me back for a long chat to let me know what's being done behind the scenes; and I was very reassured, even though process can take its time.

From that experience, I learned that the SNT are very keen to work with us to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the town so I'd urge anyone contact them to try to sort things out.

That's really good to hear about the SNT but they need to TELL residents what's happening, issues which have arisen, things dealt with, things that are ongoing, numbers of incidents i.e. anti social behaviour, muggings, break in's, areas in SE23 being targeted, rapes, drug related offences, AND their clear up rates plus other types of incidents etc.

Make the newsletter meaningful, not packed with words and statements that have no meaning. I want to see them taking action, being on the ground and being active, not strolling around and attending events. They are there to be a deterrent and get involved and attend incidents and solve crimes and put criminals in front of the justice system.

Do that and they are likely to get more involvement and begin to re-build the long lost trust they desire.......
