Hi all,

Been living in Honor Park for 1.5 year not far from the station.
There's a camera on Honor Oak Park at the junction with Stondon Park (B218).
I was 100% sure that it was a traffic light enforcement camera and been really surprised to receive a speed ticket from that camera.

I got doubts around the offence though. I'm not sure at all I was speeding and on the pictures from the ticket there's is my plate and another one from the car on the lane next to me.
I was on the left lane (1) to go left and there's not the usual marks on the road for the camera (lines) but on the right lane (2) those marks are present. I would challenge it based on the above but the ticket doesn't give that option.
Anyone knows if that camera catches speed excess on both lanes?
Or if anyone knows where I can ask?

Hi Greg, I live next to this camera and my basic observations are:

- Yes it seems to be triggered by cars in both lanes (whether it is *meant* to is a different question, I guess)
- I've lived here for 8 years and still can't work out what it's for, though like you I was erring towards it triggering for amber-gambling
- There are some days when it goes off again and again and again, then periods where it doesn't seem to trigger for many days at a time

Anyway, I'm not sure any of that is helpful, but I certainly do sympathise.
Thanks Benrosborne.
In my case the light is full green light. And the speed stated is 25 when in a 20 zone you have 10% + 2mph tolerance => starts flashing above 24mph Sad

My only "chance" is to check if I was really the car triggering it or the one on the lane next to me. Problem being that you can't appeal other than at the court and they might withdraw the awareness course (it would be my first offence) and even increase the sanction of £100 and 3 points.

I don't want to risk it for 1mph but I don't want to be sanctioned for someone either...
Will wait a bit and see if someone else is able to advise how to handle it.
I find it difficult to see that you were doing 25 mph just before turning left. Don't you get two photos from which you can calculate the speed using the white markers?
That's the thing there's isn't the white markers on the left lane. Which I find very strange. Also they sent the pic of 2 zoomed plates mine (2) and the car on my right (1)

it looks to me from what you have said that some error has occurred. I suggest that the speed calculation may be based on two different vehicles.
I suggest you go into the parking office and show them these photos. my guess is they will cancel the ticket.
That would be great, would you be able to guide me to find "Parking office"?
Not sure what or where is that.
Judging from the two images the car in the left lane is going fastest. I couldn't say how fast.
