I have been informed that Thames Water will be fixing the blocked drain by the Church. I think this is why Woolstone Road will be closed until July.

On the Woolstone Road closure:
In addition to any other works, it seems Thames Water are doing 159 Customer Service relays between the existing Water main and Property boundaries, as part of Thames Water's Lead Pipe replacement Project.
Permit runs to 19 July.
I think we might interpret Customer Service relays to mean new water pipe connections.

It's also worth noting that there are a number of such Thames Water programmes all running concurrently over several different roads in the area.
