Caerus Developments have exchanged contracts on a quarter acre site within 200m of Forest Hill train station. Work on a mix use planning application is being progressed. Further details to follow in due course.
There's a drop-in session to view and discuss plans at The Signal pub, 4-8 PM on 7th June.

That site has been in need of development for years and coupled with the proposed hotel bodes well for the area.
From the Caerus website: "Caerus Developments is a privately owned property development and investment company specialising in residential led schemes within the M25."
Whatever they build there, it is still right next to a busy stretch of the South Circular with queuing traffic for long periods in the morning and evening rush hours, and adjacent to/overlooked by the railway line. Frankly a PortaKabin yard was about the most appropriate use, though visually far from appealing.
Surely the telephone exchange site is ripe for redevelopment?
GL Hearn (part of Capita) has a meeting in the Signal on the 7th to discuss developments
Im sure if they build flats there, they will be snapped up in no time. Not so such about any retail ventures there, unless its a convenience store or something similar, to catch the commuter foot fall.
With the Co-Op disappearing when the redevelopment starts, it is an interesting time for the section of road. As for the telephone exchange, it would be nice to see something done with it, even just to make it easier on the eye. Will probably look even worse when the Co-Op is redeveloped.
