Southern is proposing cuts to services to London Bridge from January, but does anyone know what has happened to evening services from London Bridge? There are now only 2 direct trains per hour back from London Bridge during the evening peak. These used to be 53/06/23/36 (or thereabouts) and now only 06 and 36 are shown. Did they notify us about this, if so I must have missed it.
I know there's another thread about the consultation on Southern's proposed cuts (
here). This will reduce trains to London Bridge to 4 per hour in the morning peak (2 of which will frequently be cancelled - they are the Victoria loop that is often run fast from Crystal Palace). But the other thread seems to mainly focus on heading south.
Good spot - quite correct. I went onto Train Line for next Monday and Wednesday and the services are 17:06, 17:37, 18:14, 18:36 (and the 18:14 is actuall change at New Cross Gate and get Overground).
There seems to be something really weird with the London Bridget to Victoria route. I typed in London Bridge to Victoria on Monday evening and there aren't any! Trainline tells you to go Elephant Castle go to Blackfriars and get the tube!
So it looks like London Bridge to Victoria is kaput. Nothing obvious about this on the Southern Rail site. Unless it is part of the London Bridge redevelopment works?
Mystery. I don't see why Victoria loop would be cut at the moment - it's been running over the past few weeks, I've used it since September (when they reinstated the option at London Bridge of changing for Waterloo East and Charing Cross). But surely they have to tell us in advance (which I might have missed..?)
Its very odd, i sometimes catch the FOH 8.06 to London Victoria in order to have a seat and no tube - this morning it had changed to 8.02 with a timetabled arrival time 3 or 4 mins later than normal. Now this morning train no longer appears to exist on future dates but the LGB to VIC train is still scheduled from Victoria in the evenings. I don't understand!
I complained about the vanishing 1806 London Bridge to HOP train and have just received this:
"Thank you for your email dated 25th October 2016 regarding the previous 18:06 service from London Bridge to Honor Oak Park. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with alterations made to the timetable.
We plan our services to make best use of the resources we have available and to meet the needs of our customers in the most effective way. The Train Planning team has to take into account many different factors when they compile the timetable and they include adapting the service to changing customer demand.
The timetable is reviewed frequently and although we can't accommodate all of the suggestions customers make, we will pass on your comments to our Train Planning team."
as the 1821 train is ALWAYS full to overflowing I fail to see how this addresses the problem..........."customer demand" doesn't mean anything to them as far as I can see
