The London Underground is closed today because the staff are on strike.
Perhaps we should be pleased that we do not have the Underground in Forest Hill!
I just drove to Greenwich and back. You'd have thought it was early Sunday morning, the traffic was so light. I expected the roads to be rammed full of cars, but no!
I drove to Greenwich at 7:00 this morning expecting heavier than usual traffic ( you do get on some mornings where it is oddly busy even at this time) and Brockley road was completely empty. I suspect a lot of people simply had a day off).
Worth noting that its summer hols for the schools which always has a huge impact on the rush hour anyway.
Or of course its because we have no Underground south of the river so it makes no difference anyway.....
I was surprised to see massive queues for buses at 23.00 p.m. last night. Fortunately not for the 171 to Bellingham!

Valid point John, however it affects anyone who transitions onto or from the tube also. So people who travel to London Bridge before using the tube to get to other parts would be forced onto other means of transport.
Looks like the strikes next week will go ahead
I think they have been postponed.
Yep until 8th and 10th September - when i would imagine they will go-ahead
