who recalls when summers were like this from Mat until Sept or am i looking through them rose tinted glasses again ?
I know what you mean but think it may be a trick of the mind as remember the good bits.
I recall 1976 was good....
1976 will never be forgotten but I can't see that happening again in a hurry.
I'm out on the Green Chain Walk doing its annual maintenance survey and hope to do the SE23 part next Monday. The sunscreen is at the ready as I'm already a funny colour!

must say being an old f**t - i will have to say that summer 1976 was without doubt the hottest ever
My father and step mother are over from Cape Town at the moment, both wearing jackets and complaining about the cold weather.
And I think we did not have much water in 1976.
But we did briefly have a 'minister for drought' and it being the 70's cooling cheesecloth tops....and shared baths.....
