Does anybody know if they plan to install a pelican/zebra crossing outside the entrance to the statio foot tunnel on perry vale side. It's a dangerous bend and definitely needs one. Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere. Am new to forest hill and this forum.
That side of the railway line is Perry Vale Ward, not Forest Hill Ward. Perry Vale Ward had its ward assembly meeting on Monday evening. Traffic along Perry Vale (the road, not the whole area) and Perry Rise has been a major topic recently and a consultancy firm are producing a report based on local feedback. I doubt there will be any plans to install a crossing on that part of the road. The best we ever got was a pedestrian refuge near the All Inn One pub but that only lasted a few years before it was removed as a result of the road re-alignment when the Berkeley Homes development was built.
Thank-you IWereAbsolutelyFuming. Here's the location of the school on a map:

(Wells Park Road and Sydenham Park form the southern boundary of Forest Hill ward).
I wanted to suggest two possible priorities that people may wish to discuss at the ward assembly.

1) Forest Hill Ward has no GPs surgeries and the gap in services is visible on the map on page 7 of this London-wide document http://www.healthyurbandevelopment.nhs.u...Report.pdf
I feel the assembly should make increased health care provision a priority in the ward.

2) We need signage linking the station to the museum. Putting up actual signs might be difficult and add to street clutter, but how about a line on the pavement connecting the two sites? So that visitors to the area can easily find their way to Horiman.
But which side of the road would you paint this line?
You could well put 3 or 4 tea shops out of business depending on the side you choose...
North side of London Road including the link through to the car park behind Sainsburys.

That way we can keep the Lemon Grove for Local People Wink

Next Forest Hill local assembly is to be held at Sydenham School on Monday 21st June

I was working away at the time, but had hoped someone might have attended and reported on what was discussed.
Anyone?

I have attached a survey for residents in Forest Hill Ward (hilly side of the railway line) regarding the ward assembly and the priorities for the area.

[attachment=410]

Please complete the survey and return it to sam.dias (at) lewisham.gov.uk no later than midday on Friday, 16th July.

This is designed to get feedback from people who were not able to attend the ward assembly and ensure we (the assembly coordinating group) listen to the largest number of people in the local area.

Finally, if you would be interested in joining to coordinating group, to ensure priorities set by residents are acted upon, you should also contact Sam. There are not more than 6 meetings per year but it is a good way to help bring some fresh ideas to improve the local area.
We published an online version of the questionaire which asked people to rate their priorities in order and provide any additional feedback. The unedited results can be seen on our blog.

In summary the Top Priority was the Town Centre

Weighted Priorities (100% = everybody's top priority):

84.3% - Town centre (empty shops)
59.4 % - Lack of community facilities
56.5 % - Environmental issues
49.3% - Parking and traffic enforcement
41.7% - Youth provision
8.7% - Other
