There was once a guy in Bradford who said to me that he liked the furniture in Bella Pasta. Why? I asked. Because, he said, you can always see it (i.e. no one was ever in there).

Joking aside. The New Cross train is like Bradford Bella Pasta. It whistles down the track from Highbury carrying half a dozen people. Seats clearly visible. It stops at packed platforms of people waiting for trains to somewhere else. Hardly anyone gets on, hardly anyone gets off. Why are there so many of them? Can one or two go to Forest Hill instead? Who knows about these things?

Why does London Underground operate the New Cross and Clapham Junction trains one after the other and then two Forest Hill/HOP as a pair afterwards? Would it not be more sensible to alternate with the Crystal Palace and West Croydon services? That way we wouldn't have to wait for an extended time if we miss the last of the pair.

Agree. Makes no sense unless it's something to do with the London Bridge service on the line.
