I don't think the beauty therapist is at Attractions on a Saturday though - which is when I use the hairdresser there. If I want wax, manicure etc I have to go near work which is usually twice the price
Great news about a beauty salon, I am desperate for a sauna to visit that isn't in an expensive spa, gym, or a sleazy after hours establishment! Similar to the ones in Finland - simple, cheap sauna. Also a knitting/craft shop would be great! Failing that a decent greengrocers.
Noticed some work being done to the empty shop between Goldstar Furniture and Barber shop. No time to stop and query.... anybody know what it is going to be?
There is a skip load of rubbish outside the shop between the barber's and goldstar furniture in HOP, but I've not seen any workmen yet! Anybody know anymore about this development.

I also saw a planning notice outside HOP post office on Brockley Rise for the installation of an ATM, although I'm sure this will be one of those rip off charging ones.

Noticed one of those yellow planning jobbies in the window of the old fireplace shop this morning as I was driving past (read: stuck in the huge traffic jam caused by the road works on Forest Hill Road - grrrr) this morning.

Does one of you clever people who have a direct line to Lewisham's planning website know what it's for? Is change of use class necessary for a beauty parlour?

The application is to change the use from retail to a beauty salon.
Who-hoo! At last, a planning application we can whole-heartedly support!
Yes my wife is a lot more excited than myself but I am very pleased that it will be one less closed shop.
When I mentioned this to my boyfriend he asked what I would need a beauty salon for!!!!!!! Good job I don't have legs waxed etc for his benefit but for my own
Glad that's going to be something, and Hopwoman may be pleased it's going to be a beauty wotsit.

Personally, I think the street needs a hardware shop. Is there one around that I'm missing?
well there is one at the far end of Dartmouth Road, opposite the pools if that is close enough for you?
Or on Forest Hill Road opposite Peckham Rye
Or at Dulwich Plough
Or in Lordship Lane oppsite the deli
Thanks everyone! I guess I am spoilt by where I lived before where there was one just round the corner so you could be in the middle of a job and pop out for whatever you ran out of. I'll have to get organised.

I seem to remember that the one opposite (now Jumping Bean) used to be a greengrocers.

I think we have enough evening eateries (and that Le Querce is overrated!), but that it would be a great location for some sort of daytime food outlet or cafe.

i went to Le Querce one sunday evening a few weeks ago and i was very dissapionted. i asked for a calzone, they did not do them, i asked for a steak, they,d sold out. they only had bread in the mornings. we were the only customers, for ten minutes, then they had none!

Odd - when we were in Le Querce it was very good.
