Seen this? http://neighbourhoodcinema.org.uk

the British film institute are running a competition to promote local community cinemas (presumably screening their films rather than the latest Disney release ....tho the latter may be a bigger draw...)

It'd be great to bring this to SE23...any one have any bright ideas to create a winning entry?

Perhaps one for the local community groups?

Any ideas? I'm happy to help :-)
Sounds like a good idea for someone who can run it properly. Local attempts so far have been pretty dire.
I'm an expert at p*** ups in breweries....no idea about locations or community regulations and rules and stuff though. I'd love to do it on the platform at one tree hill in the summer :-)
You could talk to the Horniman museum, maybe they'd be willing to do a collaboration? The conservatory would be a great location to do a pop up cinema...and in the summer you could even venture to do an outdoor thing?
I really like this idea. I've never organised a cinema before either but I have a contact at the Horniman and I'm happy to have a go at pitching the idea to them, and other venues. I'm not part of a community group but happy to join one. I see there are a few community cinemas already:

But it appears they are fairly far apart and with infrequent screenings so maybe still room for a new one.

Does anyone fancy meeting for coffee to discuss it?
Yep! Wed evening any good?
Weds evenings not so good at the moment. The best for me is Thursday evening.
Cool - anyone else? 7pm? The honor oak pub?
Anyone still up for this? If no replies I'll assume not.
OK as I've heard nothing back I'm assuming no-one's going, so I'm not going! I'm new to communicating via this forum so not sure how it works
