As a newbie to the area, could someone please tell me where the nearest local swimming pool to Forest Hill is please?

I believe your nearest option is The Bridge in Lower Sydenham. This used to be private sports centre operated by BP but now operated by LBC

Other local options are Dulwich College or East Dulwich Leisure Centre (which is closing in October for refurbishment).

You might also consider Ladywell Leisure Centre or Peckham Pulse.

I must admit we use Beckenham Spa

not sure if it is the closest, but sufficiently convenient and a reasonable centre
